Aston Martin Vanquish to hit production under a different name

The Vanquish Vision Concept the British sports car maker unveiled a few years ago will not be making it to the market under that name, Autocar reports quoting the company’s CEO Lawrence Stroll.

Aston Martin had used the ‘Vanquish’ badge in the past, putting it on front-engined grand tourers until the DBS model came out. It promised to bring the name back for an “all-new” vehicle, but it now looks like it won’t be the production car based on the Vanquish Vision Concept.

This leaves us guessing what the name will be. It is official that the car will come powered by a hybrid setup borrowed from the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, but with only one electric motor and rear-wheel drive as the only option. The output will be identical at 843 PS (831 hp / 620 kW), though.
