Aston Martin Vantage: Now stronger and more steerable than ever

The British premium car brand Aston Martin said it was going to expand its Vantage lineup to include a few V12 manual and CVT models. The corresponding statement was issued by none less than CEO Andy Palmer.

The current-generation Aston Martin Vantage coupe only comes with a four-liter V8 Mercedes-AMG motor which outputs 510 horsepower. Even with an engine like this, the car makes 0-100 km/h (approx. 0-60 mph) in 3.6 seconds and goes all the way up to 314 km/h (195 mph).

While there is still no consensus on whether the new Aston Martin Vantage should benefit from a V12, at least there is no problem accommodating it inside the current hood compartment. However, as industry experts point out, a greater problem may surface in the increased weight of the vehicle, which may upset the delicate “perfect balance of the Vantage”.

In addition to the above, Andy Palmer let it slip that the company plans to release two new versions of Aston Martin Vantage in the near future. One comes in a roadster body, while the other gets a manual gearbox.
