Aston Martin takes wraps off the most driver-focused Vantage ever

Aston Martin has presented the Vantage update that it calls “the most driver-focused” in history. The first supercars will reach their owners in Q2 2024, but all prices remain to be announced.

The facelift car, which is formally considered the next generation but arguably isn’t, looks more like the DB12 with its larger radiator grille and Matrix LED headlights. Design Director Marek Reichmann said he drew inspiration from the exclusive One-77 when designing the new Vantage.

21-inch forged wheels shod in custom Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires are now included in the base spec. Opting for carbon-ceramic brakes drops the unsprung mass by 27 kg (60 lbs).

Power for the new Vantage continues to be provided by the usual 4.0-liter Mercedes-AMG V8. Thanks to a larger turbocharger setup, improved cooling and other upgrades, its output now amounts to 665 PS (656 hp / 489 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. That’s 155 horsepower and 115 Newton-meters more than before the facelift.

An eight-speed ZF transmission sends the power to the wheels through the electronic diff lock that the company first introduced on the last-gen Vantage.

The car needs 3.4 seconds for 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) launch and maxes out at 325 km/h (202 mph). The company claims it is the fastest Vantage in the entire 74-year history of the badge.

Other improvements include launch control, traction control and stabilization, Bilstein DTX adaptive shocks, and a stiffer body design with braces between the suspension struts. Other than that, the design stays largely the same, maintaining a perfect 50/50 weight distribution between the axles.
