Aston Martin has issued around 170 Vantage Volante V8 convertibles in 1986 and the three years that followed. Of these, 78 belonged to an even rarer series called the X-Pack. Silverstone Auctions will soon hold an auction dedicated to one such car.
The vehicle had been assembled among the first especially for the London International Motor Show and even has a special memorial plaque inside to show for it. It had changed hands several times until a car collector bought in 1990. He proved quite caring and replaced many of its worn parts, repaired the transmission and repainted the body.
Compared to the main series, the Aston Martin Vantage Volante V8 X-Pack comes with a different hood cover design, a spoiler, broader wheel arches and a 432hp / 322 kW strong 5.0-liter engine. It accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in six seconds.
The vehicle has around 51,500 kilometers (32,000 miles) on its odometer and has a starting price of £320,000.
