49-year-old Audi 100 becomes a restomodding paragon

The Audi 100 (C1) Coupe has long since vanished from the streets, largely turning into a collector’s piece. Andi Riley must have felt sorry to see it go like this, so he turned one example into a gorgeous restomod.

He left the body largely stock with only minor modifications. Among other things, the car received a Mk3 front bumper and a Samurai Grey exterior finish borrowed from the Porsche catalog. He put 18-inch Lancia Delta HF Turbo wheels inside the arches and upgraded the suspension to ride on air.

Interior highlights include Recaro seats sans headrests, a Mustang steering wheel, an all-custom console, and a Volkswagen ignition lock. The vivid brown leather stems from Ferrari, but there is no denying that the whole looks surprisingly consistent and stylish.

Power comes from a 1.8-liter VW Passat engine boosted to deliver 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) and 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) of torque. A five-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels.
