Audi has waited a long time before releasing its own coupe-SUV model, apparently thinking that the trend wouldn’t last. It did, and the company gave up and released the Q8. With its not-so-steeply sloping roof, the car offered more precious interior space and thus turned out to be quite a success.
This makes the fact that it’s driven by a mediocre 3.0L V6 diesel all the more lamentable. The mill only produces 286 hp (213 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb×ft) of torque.
DTE Systems decided to address that by adapting the existing Audi A8 D5 chip tuning to the new model. The attempt was a success, making the Audi Q8 capable of additional 36 hp (27 kW) and 69 Nm (51 lb×ft) of torque.
DTE Systems said the acceleration performance of the car improved as well, but didn’t provide any specifics.
