Earlier this year, we were shown a conceptual Audi RS3 remake with an all-electric drivetrain and a new body kit. The car came out named the Schaeffler 4ePerformance Concept. Schaeffler is a sponsor of the Audi Sport ABT Formula E racing team.
The vehicle came driven by four wheel-mounted electric motors (i.e., one per wheel), connected to a 63 kWh battery. Their total output was reported to be as high as 1,200 hp (895 kW). The car could accelerate to 200 km/h in mere 7 seconds, which is 1.9 faster than the range-topping Lamborghini Huracan Performante can do.
Watch the video to see the car take on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante in a drag race showdown. The outcome may be predictable, but the video is worth watching all the same.
