Audi Sport, a subdivision of Audi, plans to begin mass production and sales of its new full-electric sports car family as early as 2020.
The corresponding statement was made by Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport. According to him, the company also works on environment-friendly crossover SUVs.
He also confirmed that Audi Sport hasn’t dropped its previous intentions to conduct further development and modernization of gasoline and hybrid engines. Furthermore, the car maker plans to release several new car models equipped with turbocharged engines between 2018 and 2020.
As we told in an earlier story, the first fully electric Audi crossover rolls off the assembly line in Belgium in 2018. Its manufacturer-rated travel distance before discharge constitutes an impressive 500 kilometers.
