Audi has said it had launched the assembly of a special Q2 crossover series with a larger wheelbase meant exclusively for the Chinese market. No additional information was provided.
If we were to take our best guess, we’d say the car is most likely to get a one-liter gasoline engine rated at 116 horsepower or so.
Optional 1.4L and 2.0 engines aren’t out of the question either. Finally, if modern trends are anything to go by, the new Audi Q2 should also get a hybrid version.
It bears mentioning that this fairly average compact crossover debuted at the International Car Show in Geneva, Switzerland in the spring of 2016. Thanks to a shorter wheelbase which comes with the stock MQB platform, the vehicle ended up being the smallest in the Audi lineup.
