Audi has revealed the first image of activesphere, its fourth EV design study following the grandsphere, skyphere and urbansphere. The novelty looks like a cross-country-capable saloon and should debut in early 2023.
The prototype sports a three-space body with slim headlights similar to those of the rest of the Sphere family. Impressive ground clearance, plastic fender flares and off-road tire treads suggest that unlike the original trio of concepts, the fourth entry is shaping up to be a capable off-roader.
All we know about the powertrain is that it is all-electric and supports limited self-driving. Audi is marketing the model as a versatile and flexible vehicle for active leisure enthusiasts who cannot simply decide between asphalt and dirt.
Shown in the rest of our gallery and the video below are a minivan called the Urbansphere, a four-door coupe by the name of Grandsphere and a roadster dubbed the Skysphere. All three are design studies and technological showcases first and foremost, but Audi plans to bring them all the way into production in the future.
