Bram Schot, board member of Audi AG, made it official that the new Audi Q1 compact crossover was scheduled for premiere in 2020. The car is already running road tests, but spy photographers haven’t had any luck spotting it so far – partly because the manufacturer uses development mules instead of same-body prototypes.
The new Audi Q1 will take advantage of a rather up-to-date MQB modular car platform currently employed in such models as the SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Arona.
Knowledgeable sources say the Audi Q1 is likely to come with a nice palette of engines to choose from, including a 1.0 TSI, a 1.5 TSI, and a 1.6 TDI. A soft hybrid is also a possibility.
