Audi expects annual sales of 800,000 hybrids and EVs starting in 2024

Audi has just revealed its updated business plan for the next seven years. The German car giant hopes to gradually increase sales of hybrid and all-electric vehicles and expand its offer to include a number of new environmentally clean models.

The company plans to sell as many as 800,000 EVs and hybrids starting in 2024, which in turn necessitates the development of new vehicles. The all-electric E-Tron SUV will be the first to roll off the assembly lines, followed by the E-Тron Sportback Cross Coupe and the top-spec Е-Тron GT. Audi has allocated €40,000,000,000 in investments to design a total of 20 new electrified vehicles before 2024.

The new strategy also touches upon autonomous car tech. The German manufacturer wants to introduce its first self-driving model based on the Aicon Concept in 2021. The urban shuttle will enter mass production after extensive in-house testing.

Other plans include the development of a new EV platform together with Porsche and the construction of a network of fast charging stations in Europe with Ford, Daimler and BMW.
