Audi postpones its e-tron Quattro premiere until September

Fans of the German automotive brand must have waited for the premiere of the all-electric SUV Audi e-tron Quattro with great impatience, but it seems like they now have to brace up and wait a bit longer.

The premiere has allegedly been postponed over “organizational difficulties”. Initially scheduled for the Audi Summit in Brussels, Belgium on August 30, it will be happening on September 17 in San-Francisco, USA.

According to Financial Times, the true reason behind the missed deadline has nothing to do with abstract organizational matters and everything with the arrest of the Audi CEO Rupert Stadler. You may recall that he was detained in mid-June over alleged suppression of evidence in the wake of the Dieselgate scandal. He denies all charges.

The Audi e-tron Quattro is Audi’s first all-electric vehicle ever. It is going to get a large 95 kWh traction battery, active air intakes, adaptive air suspension, and rear view cameras instead of the conventional side mirrors.
