German automotive giant Audi has released the first teaser pic featuring the marque’s first-ever all-electric supercar. The conceptual vehicle will attend the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in late August.
The environment-friendly concept vehicle goes under the provisional name of “PB 18 e-tron”. Apparently, its developers drew inspiration from the R18 e-tron Concept that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Many technical solutions found in the racecar were reportedly either adapted or carried over directly into the new EV.
It remains to be seen what kind of drivetrain the Audi PB 18 e-tron ends up with. The manufacturer will likely reveal this information closer to the premiere.
The “green” supercar may eventually become the flagship of an entire family of EVs. Its first member, the e-tron SUV, will enter the market as early as this fall.
Audi plans to release three different electrified vehicles within the next two years.
