In late 2019, Audi will be revealing the Allroad version of its Audi A1 hatchback, featuring higher road clearance and additional protective padding.
The manufacturer is currently busy putting the development mule to various trials on the snowy roads of Northern Europe. Rumor has it that the car may enter the market priced at €30,000 and above.
Compared to the main A1 series, the Allroad trim sports new bumpers, wider fenders, protective body padding, and a greater ride height. Its interior, however, remains identical.
The new car utilizes the MQB A0 platform originally developed by Volkswagen and ships with the AWD in base.
Other than that, technical details are still light at the moment. The standard Audi A1 hatchback is available with a choice between two one-liter engines rated at 95 hp / 71 kW and 118 hp / 88 kW, respectively, a 1.5-liter unit with 150 hp (112 kW) and a 2.0-liter turbo engine capable of 200 hp (149 kW).
