The German tuner has worked its magic on the latest Audi A1 Sportback.
Owners of the range-topping Sportback 40 TFSI may now opt for an optional package called the ABT Power, which squeezes an additional 40 hp (30 kW) along with 40 Nm (39 lb-ft) of torque out of the stock two-liter, turbo-four engine. The result is a respectable 200 hp (149 kW) along with 320 Nm (238 lb-ft) of torque.
The upgrade enables the hot hatch to sprint to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds (0.2 s faster than before) and max out at 240 km/h (149.1 mph), rather than the factory-guaranteed 235 km/h (146 mph).
That said, the previous generation was still a bit more agile than the current one. The front-wheel driven S1 (231 hp / 132 kW, 370 Nm / 273 lb-ft) did the sprint in 5.8, while the superior A1 quattro (256 hp / 191 kW, 350 Nm / 258 lb-ft) managed in 5.7 s. The latest A1 no longer has Audi’s signature quattro AWD.
Back to the ABT options, though. Exterior tweaks include a lowered stance (25-30 mm, 1”-1.2”) and 18-inch ABT Sport GR rims wrapped in 215/40 R18 tires.
