Audi’s latest all-electric SUV concept – the e-tron – has completed another major driving test recently, crossing the borders of ten countries within 24 hours and covering around 1,700 kilometers (1,056 miles).
Within a single day, the Audi e-tron has visited Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. Its route has led it through a variety of terrains, enabling the engineering team to assess its performance in the rolling hills of the Alps, the winding streets of Tirol, the smooth asphalt of big cities, and cross-country roads elsewhere. The test mainly focused on measuring the car’s regenerative brake performance when going downhill and the overall performance of its electric AWD system.
The 24-hour drive was interrupted seven times, during which the EV restored a portion of its power. Replenishing 80% of its lithium-ion battery routinely takes 30 minutes, the company reports.
The original Audi e-tron SUV debuted in the fall of 2018. The car packs two electric engines jointly rated at 360 hp (268 kW) and can temporarily boost the output to 408 hp (304 kW).
