Audi e-tron GT spawns two special editions ahead of launch

The sports-oriented subdivision of Audi has announced the forthcoming ‘S’ and ‘RS’ modifications for both the SUV and the four-door coupe versions of the all-electric e-tron GT, despite it not being available for purchase yet.

The e-tron GT S and RS will arrive based on the Porsche Taycan chassis and tech. The strongest Taycan spec on the market produces 761 PS (750 hp, or 559 kW).

The Audi e-tron GT Concept (shown in the gallery and the video here) originally debuted with twin electric motors joining their efforts for 590 hp (440 kW). The specs of the production car remain unknown, but in all likelihood, it will receive a single engine with a more modest horsepower rating. We will not know until the premiere, which should happen sometime in mid-2020.

In related news, Audi has announced that its RS4 Avant wagon would soon get a PHEV variant.
