2021 Audi e-tron sees a price drop in the USA

The electric crossovers Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback continue gaining market momentum with 17,641 units sold in the first half of 2020 alone (up 86.8% from 1H2019). It even became the single best-selling light passenger car in Norway responsible for 92% of all Audi sales in that country. As if all of the above weren’t enough, the recent update slashes prices across the board.

The 2021 e-tron Premium trim opens the lineup priced a whopping $8,900 under the old Premium Plus. This means U.S. customers will soon be able to grab an e-tron for $65,900 or an e-tron Sportback for $69,100. Despite technically being the most basic spec on offer, the Premium comes equipped with lane control, four-zone HVAC, electric tailgate, leather seats, front seat and wheel heating, digital dash, and 20-inch wheels. The Sportback adds the S Line package on top of the above, but it doesn’t include the Convenience Plus Package with its electronic assists and black exterior details.

There are other improvements, too. A software update enables the regular e-tron to make 357 kilometers (222 miles) on a single battery charge instead of 328 km (204 miles) like before. The Sportback holds onto its usual range of 350 km (217 miles). The efficient battery size for both models increases to 86.5 kilowatt-hours (95 kWh nominal capacity).

Both the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback should hit the showrooms in late summer or early fall.
