Audi Q4 e-tron gets spied in two variants at once

Car spotters have discovered two Audi EV prototypes out in the open: a Q4 e-tron and a Q4 Sportback e-tron. The former debuted last March and should become production-ready before the end of 2020. The Sportback premiered in last July and is due out in 2021.

Based on the shots, the test vehicles sport redesigned LED headlight patterns and air intakes while otherwise staying true to their original designs. Inside, there is a digital instrument cluster, a slightly turned touchscreen display, and a floating console screen.

When the prototypes debuted, both came equipped with dual-motor powertrains rated at 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW). Chances are good that Audi will expand the lineup to include an entry-level spec rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW). This one would only have one electric motor driving the rear axle. As for the batteries, the range-topping spec should grant over 500 kilometers (310 miles) of range.
