Audi CEO Markus Duesmann has officially announced the intention to release an all-electric crossover SUV named Q6 e-tron next year, basing it on Porsche Macan tech.
The model will slot in between the Q4 e-tron and the regular e-tron (featured in the gallery and the video) while coming closest to the Q5 in terms of dimensions. It will be based on the PPE platform co-designed by Audi and Porsche. The powertrain will produce around 470 PS (464 hp / 346 kW), and an RS version might arrive later with 636 PS (627 hp / 468 kW) under the hood.
Production will be localized in Ingolstadt, where Audi has a dedicated EV assembly site. A battery production facility will be placed nearby.
In recent news, Audi revealed it was halting all development of next-gen internal combustion engines because of the impending adoption of Euro-7 standards.
