Check out Gymkhana’s new sports car, the Hoonitron

As you probably know, Ken Block is no longer associated with Ford and instead teams up with Audi on an EV stunt show temporarily named the Electrikhana. Here’s what he intends to be driving to the obstacle course.

Named the Audi S1 e-tron Quattro a.k.a. Hoonitron, the car is a custom build that took Audi four weeks to produce. The worldwide famous racer and tuning aficionado believes all-electric cars are the future: they both offer superb performance and have a smaller environmental footprint. He openly admits that, even having driven so many crazy ICE cars, he was still overjoyed with the Audi after the first tests.

Block intends to continue his annual Gymkhana show on YouTube, which could end up named Electrikhana if that name passes approval. He emphasizes in the video that some of the formerly mandatory design steps were deliberately excluded from the production process of the Hoonitron. On the outside, the new racer looks much like Audi’s legendary rally cars such as the S1. It also has obvious design nods to the current EVs such as the RS e-tron GT: look for the similarities in the body outlines, the shapes and the headlights.

Technical parameters are not there to be announced yet, but Block has confirmed all-wheel drive. We suspect the Hoonitron may be powered by the same 680-PS (671-hp / 500-kW) system as the RS Q e-tron, a prototype rally car Audi built for Dakar.

Just when the next Gymkhana may premiere and what it may look like remains unknown.
