Audi schedules its Q3 Sportback for premiere in July 2019

Audi has made a number of important announcements at the annual shareholders’ meeting, one of which was that it planned to introduce the new Q3 Sportback coupe/SUV to the public in July later this year.

As you are probably aware, no international motor shows fall on July. This means that the premiere will likely occur during a private special event. Many companies have been doing it lately, including Skoda, which has had a series of premieres during the IIHF 2019 World Championship in Slovakia.

According to Audi AG CEO Bram Schot, the new Sportback vehicles will complement the marque’s A and Q lines. Aside from the Q3, the all-electric Audi e-ton will also be getting a Sportback version later this year.

The newcomer does not look much different from the standard Q3 on the outside, the differences mostly boiling down to the slightly modified front bumper, radiator grille, and rear fascia. It also gets to inherit the transmissions, the engines, and the principal features from its predecessor.

Audi will produce its Q3 Sportback in Hungary.

Other announcements made during the meeting included working on an ‘especially chic’ A8 and sported-up editions of the Q8. As usual, there were some sad news as well: the company said it would be discontinuing the TT series and probably the R8, too.
