Twitter exploded earlier this week when Charlene Rubush missed an opportunity to win a brand new Audi Q3 on Wheel of Fortune due to speaking slower than the rules allowed.
Rubush was able to solve the bonus round riddles with just 10 seconds remaining and 5 gaps on the tableau to fill in. She gave all the correct answers, but the host declined them because she made large gaps between answers, violating the rules of the show.
Viewers immediately responded by bashing the host and the show online, while Audi saw a marketing opportunity to be charitable. The company came out with the announcement that Rubush would be getting her prize Q3 no matter what.
“In the spirit of the holidays, we are thrilled to gift Charlene with an all-new Audi Q3,” the company said, adding that she did everything right and did not deserve being left out.
