Two years after the original reveal, the SUV-shaped Audi Q4 e-tron is nearly ready for production – here’s what you should consider learning about it.
The German marque’s third SUV after the e-tron and e-tron Sportback will share the MEB architecture with the Skoda Enyaq iV and the Volkswagen ID.4. It will be 4,590 mm (15.06 feet) long, 1,865 mm (6.12 feet) wide and 1,613 mm (5.29 feet) tall with 2,760 mm (9.06 feet) between the axles. The longer wheelbase should result in a more spacious cabin than its market rivals can offer.
Interior features include numerous handy pockets for storage, an extra airbag in the middle, a head-up display with augmented reality support, and a voice control system that understands commands starting with “Hey, Audi”. Towards the end of 2021, the company will start shipping the car with the largest infotainment display so far: 11.6 inches across, as opposed to the current 10.1 inches.
Customers will be offered a variety of finishing materials, sports seats for the front row, as many as nine trim schemes, and the same number of option packs.
Nothing is being revealed about the powertrain. It is possible that the top spec will come based on the same powertrain as the concept carm specifically dual electric motors rated at 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW), AWD and a 77-kWh traction battery for 450 kilometers (280 miles) of range.
The premiere is set for April, and the sales should begin this summer along with the Q4 e-tron Sportback.
