Two years after rolling out its all-electric Q4 e-tron (see video), Audi has updated the SUV for the next model year.
The main novelty comes in the form of an improved powertrain: the motor and the battery are better in all trim levels. The useful battery capacity in particular has risen to 77 kilowatt-hours (nominal capacity: 82 kWh).
Maximum charging power has been boosted to 175 kW for dual-motor versions and 135 kW for single-motor ones. In ideal conditions, replenishing the charge from 10 to 80 percent will take only 28 minutes. The WLTP-rated range has also been improved and now maxes out at 562 km (349 miles).
Audi has significantly reduced the number of available options in the lineup. The entry-level 35 e-tron and 40 e-tron are gone, as is the old 50 e-tron quattro, which has been replaced with the more expensive ‘55’ version. Buyers of the Q4 45 e-tron can choose between RWD and AWD. Both have the same output – 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW), but while the RWD version sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds, the AWD one manages the same in 6.6 seconds.
Residing at the pinnacle of the lineup is the Q4 55 e-tron quattro, which now has 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and reaches highway speed in 5.4 seconds. All models are electronically capped at 180 km/h (112 mph).
The pre-order books will open on September 26, 2023. Prices will begin from €53,000.
