New low-end Audi Q4 e-tron rides on stamped wheels

Audi has expended its Q4 e-tron lineup with a new affordable modification called the 35. It starts from €45,600, undercutting the old baseline by a whopping €7,350, but comes loaded with compromises ranging from a weaker engine and smaller battery to very cheap-looking wheels.

Buyers will be able to order the new Audi Q4 35 e-tron in both SUV and Sportback flavors. Both will ship with a single rear-axle motor capped at 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and a 55-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The traditional SUV will cover up to 355 km (220 miles) on a charge and the Sportback will squeeze an additional 10 km (6 miles) out of the pack, Audi claims.

Both versions need full nine seconds to go 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) and cannot exceed 160 km/h (99 mph). With a weaker 145kW charging interface, they will take a bit longer to refill than the senior models.

For comparison, the existing Q4 45 e-tron model has 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) at its disposal, 82 kWh of battery capacity, and 175kW charging support.

Things look every bit as cost-optimized in the trim department. Apart from the stamped wheels (alloys aren’t even listed as an option), the Q4 35 e-tron has heated front seats, a power tailgate, a sat-nav system with charge-aware route planning – and that’s about it. An advanced infotainment system with a built-in AI chat and third-party app support is perhaps the only noteworthy feature in the cabin.
