Audi has previewed the interior of its all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV set to go on sale in the second half of 2024.
The dashboard houses three OLED displays, two of which – an 11.9-inch gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen – are combined inside a single slightly curved housing. A third 10.9-inch screen resides in front of the passenger seat and is installed in such a way as not to distract the driver on the go. There is also a heads-up display with Augmented Reality support that can project directions onto the road up to 200 meters (656 feet) ahead of the car.
The infotainment system benefits from an AI-powered voice assistant that Audi claims can learn to recognize more and more conversation patterns as it keeps talking with the owners. It can even foresee and correct certain situations – for instance, turn on seat heating as soon as the temperature outside drops below a certain level.
A LED thread lining the inner rim of the windshield also interacts with the driver, using colors and timed lighting effects to convey a number of messages. For example, it can greet the driver, report an issue, display charging progress, or blink in unison with the turn indicators.
The default trim is largely woven from recycled plastic waste, but you can order any of the traditional materials as well, including leather, wood and aluminum.
