Electric cars are no longer our future; they are our present. ICE cars gradually become history, and while the petrol ones might linger around for a while, the diesel ones should soon vanish without a trace. Even so, it is interesting to put an Audi E-Tron Sportback up against an Audi Q7 V12 TDI and see how they compare.
The formidable diesel-chugging V12 commands six liters of displacement and churns out 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) along with 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels.
In turn, the E-Tron Sportback makes use of dual electric motors jointly rated at 410 PS (404 hp / 302 kW) and 664 Nm (490 lb-ft) of torque. It is obviously outmatched by the diesel monster in terms of both peak torque and nominal power. But are these figures what matters the most?
The first race sees one of the participants encountering unexpected difficulties, but the other two races unambiguously demonstrate which one is the fastest of the two. Watch the video and find out.
