Audi has been busy testing its performance-packed RS Q8 flagship at the Nürburgring Complex in Germany. Latest rumors claim the car has set a record lap time at the fabled test track.
A video allegedly showing the new RS Q8 running a test lap has emerged on a YouTube channel dedicated to various Nürburgring records. Its authors claim that the calculations they make enable them to determine the lap time to within a second. They proceed to claim that the SUV ran the whole course in 7 minutes 47 seconds, which is two seconds faster than the current official champion, the Mercedes GLC63 AMG S, did.
Interestingly, the German carmaker does not seem in a rush to comment the leak. At any rate, with around 600 horsepower (450 kilowatts) under the hood, there is little doubt that the upcoming SUV would be capable of breaking the record set by its Stuttgart rival.
The Audi RS Q8 should celebrate its official premiere later this year.
