Audi slates two major premieres for the LA Auto Show

The much-anticipated Audi RS Q8 and the e-tron Sportback will be exhibited for everyone to see at the Los-Angeles International Auto Show in the USA starting on Friday, November 22, 2019.

The coupe-shaped RS modification of the Q8 SUV will be the sixth and last new RS model introduced to the performance lineup in 2019. While not even available yet, it has already been officially recognized as the Nürburgring’s fastest SUV. The powertrain specs remain undisclosed, but the company says it is composed of a gasoline V8 engine and a 48-volt ‘mild hybrid’ add-on. When going between 55 and 160 km/h (34 – 99 mph), you can switch to an all-electric mode, which can remain active for up to 40 seconds at a time. The same starter-generator unit that fulfils the function of the electric motor can also regenerate some power lost during braking.

As for the Audi e-tron Sportback, the EV will pack the e-tron powertrain consisting of dual engines jointly rated at 360 hp (268 kW). You will be able to boost the output to 408 hp (304 kW) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) for brief periods of time. The driving range will amount to 400 kilometers (250 miles).

More will be revealed when both cars debut at the LA Show.
