The YouTube team of Carwow has held a match between the newest RS 3 model and the 37-year old Sport Quattro S1, a legendary Groupe B rally racer still capable of some impressive performance.
The RS 3 comes powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque in conjunction with a seven-speed DCT. It has four driven wheels and weighs 1,575 kilograms (3,472 pounds) in its sedan version. Prices in the UK hover at £57,000.
The Sport Quattro S1 also has five cylinders, but its block is 2.1 liters large and works with a six-speed manual transmission. It makes superior 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW) and 480 Nm (353 lb-ft) of torque and weighs much less than its rival does at 1,090 kg (2,403 lbs). As a true rarity, it goes for approximately £1,700,000.
The full video includes a standing race, a rolling race and a brake test. It is a close match, see which one comes out on top!
