APR, a tuning shop based in Alabama, United States, has released a power kit for the VW 5.2 FSI V10 engine. The kit can be installed to improve performance of the Audi R8 (V10, V10 Plus and RWS are all supported), as well as the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 and LP610-4.
The upgrade consists of two parts called “APR Stage 1” and “APR Plus”, respectively. It boils down to a simple ECU remap that raises the engine output by 104 hp / 78 kW and 86 Nm / 63 lbft of torque.
Available options include speed limiter removal, torque limiter removal, installation of a fully configurable heat control system, certain intake, ignition and exhaust improvements, and new power/torque gauges for the instrument panel.
The APR Stage 1 upgrade makes it possible for the car owners to use either RON 95 / 98 gasoline or E60 / E85 ethanol as fuel. The APR Plus package comes with a limited engine warranty valid as long as the car only uses RON 85 gas.
