Next year, the series will receive the second generation of the Audi R8 sports car. It will get a reduced V6 motor. However, as the company assures, the car will not lose in speed.
If we talk about the first modification of the car, then it is completed with two variants of naturally aspirated engines. The first power unit V10 with a volume of 5.2 liters produced, in different versions, 525 and 570 horsepower. The second - the 4.2-liter V8 engine boasted a capacity of 430 "horses". The current generation Audi R8 is completed only with the "pumped" V10. It delivers from 540 to 610 horsepower.
Now the German automaker decided to abandon the atmospheric V8, so that the car met the growing requirements of environmental friendliness. As a result, we decided to stop at the turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, known for the models Porsche Panamera and Cayenne, as well as Audi RS4 Avant and RS5. Experts predict that the engine will have two versions of forcing. The maximum will be 500 horsepower.
