What happens when two V10-packing supercars with tuned engines get together for an acceleration race? Watch the video to find out!
The first contender is a Dodge Viper, a purebred drag strip king with a humongous and gas-hungry 8.4-liter engine under the hood. It received a boost to 700 bhp (522 kW) measured on the rear axle for the race.
Its rival is the range-topping Audi R8 V10, which only has 5.2 liters of displacement to work with. However, let’s not forget that the mill itself has been designed by Lamborghini, which surely knows its engines. Furthermore, tweaks in the transmission and exhaust have bolstered the output to 680 hp (507 kW).
The race took place on a speedway, and both cars had a rolling start to eliminate the possible starting advantage of Audi’s AWD system.
