Britain’s fastest Audi RS3 goes down in flames

Somber news for extreme car tuning lovers: the famous 850-HP Eventuri Project RS3 sedan caught fire while being driven on a road in England and was completely destroyed within minutes. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Eventuri, which specializes in performance air intake systems, reached out to many aftermarket suppliers to build its ultimate RS3 two years ago. Race Developments provided the forged engine, Iroz Motorsport a high-end turbo kit, and AEM a methanol injection system. To top things off, the car has switched to using E85 instead of petrol.

In last December, CarWOW awarded the Eventuri Project RS3 the title of UK’s fastest dragster after it zapped through a quarter of a mile in under ten seconds (see video). A bit before that, the wild ride hit 211 mph (340 km/h) at VMAX200, netting it the status of Great Britain’s fastest road vehicle.

In retrospect, the one thing the Eventuri RS3 lacked was a fire extinguishing system. The tuner openly admitted as much in a social media post, saying the damage could be avoided had an extinguisher been present. It looks like the team’s next project, whatever it shapes up to be, will not repeat the mistake.
