Drag racing is a venerable sports that nonetheless still manages to be popular today. A major part of the reason why lies with tuners, such as those who built this insane Audi RS 3 and its rival, the R8.
Starting with the latter, the R8 uses a rear-mounted 5.2-liter V8 rated at 610 PS (602 hp / 445 kW) in its stock form. This example, however, benefits from a custom twin-turbo setup by Push Performance, which lets it hit the wheels with 1,105 PS (1,090 hp / 813 kW). Doubling the output in a coupe weighing in at just 1,595 kg (3,516 lbs) dry can achieve some tremendous results.
But wait before you call out the winner. The other participant is an Audi RS 3 that weighs even less at 1,440 kg (3,175 lbs) while putting out nearly the same amount of power to the wheels at 1,030 PS (1,016 hp / 757 kW). Both should be able to do a quarter-mile run in nine seconds or so given a perfect launch.
So, which one do your sympathies lie with? Make your predictions, but note that the racetrack is very wet.
