A recent video shows a single acceleration race between two unlikely opponents: an Audi RS3 and a Volkswagen Beetle. Both appear to be turbocharged – listen in on the engine sound – but the poster provides no details in that respect.
The race took place at the Gainsville Raceway in Florida, close enough to sea level to let the relatively tame engines of both vehicles to realize their full potential. Watch the video to see how it went or read on for spoilers.
The Beetle gets a jump on the Audi, but the Audi eventually pulls ahead and secures a confident victory. This is not to say the Beetle lags far behind: both complete their quarter-mile run in barely more than ten seconds.
