The Audi RS 3 is going through its third generation right now, and the power and tech it commands improve with each passing year. Carwow decided to demonstrate to us just how much it has improved so far compared to the older generations.
All cars featured in this series of quarter-mile races come equipped with a 2.5-litr, five-cylinder engine, but its output is never the same. The Mk3 RS makes 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The Mk2 has the same power, but less peak torque at 480 Nm (354 lb-ft). The Mk1 plays catch-up with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque.
All-wheel drive and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission are something all three models have in common. However, the generations 1 and 3 are marginally heavier than the Gen.2 at 1,575 kilograms versus 1,510 (3,470 pounds versus 3,330).
Feel free to let us know what you think about the evolution of the RS 3 and the distribution of places in this little contest.
