The jury of Women’s World Car of the Year has announced the winners of the award across six main categories. SUVs and trucks reign supreme in the ranking this time around, with only one light passenger car in the ‘Best Sports Car’ nomination. The overall winner will be proclaimed on March 8.
The Kia Niro won the Best City Car title. The Jeep Avenger was recognized as the best family SUV. The Nissan X-Trail was named the best full-size SUV. The Ford Ranger led the list of pickup trucks. The Full-Size Passenger Car award went to the SUV-like Citroen C5 X.
Standing out from the utility vehicle crowd is the Audi RS 3: the hot hatch came ahead of the competition in the Sports Car category.
A jury of 65 female car reporters from 45 countries across the globe have evaluated cars by their handling, comfort, technological advancement, price-to-performance ratio, design and environmental footprint.
