The German Schaeffler Engineering GmbH has unveiled an all-electric vehicle concept it calls the 4ePerformance. The vehicle is based on the regular Audi RS3 sedan, but comes with a new body design and an engine set borrowed from a Formula E racecar.
More specifically, it has four electric engines (two per axle) taken from the unique ABT Schaeffler FE01 racing vehicle that participated in Formula E 2016/2017. Each unit produces around 300 hp (224 kW), bringing the performance total to an impressive 1,200 hp / 895 kW. There is a 64 kWh traction battery to power these up.
A new aerodynamic body kit, a splitter, a rear wing, low suspension and lots of downforce result in 4ePerformance effortlessly accelerating to dizzying speeds. The vehicle makes it to 200 km/h (125 mph) from a standstill in under 7 seconds – faster than its rival Ferrari 488 Pista can do.
