ABT Sportsline has announced the coming of the exclusive RS4-X, a superwagon based on the Audi RS 4 chassis. Only 60 units will be released with substantial visual and performance upgrades.
While the stock car is quite capable on its own, packing 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, the tuned one is markedly sportier with 530 PS (521 hp / 390 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft). This shaves one-third of a second off the standard sprint time (now 3.8 seconds) and raises the top speed to 300 km/h (186 mph).
According to a representative of the tuning shop, the goal was to create a true supercar in wagon disguise. To that end, the designers came up with a rather sophisticated carbon-fiber aero kit for the RS 4. Included in the package are a front lip extension, splitters and canards, a diffuser-shaped rear bumper add-on, and a rear spoiler. For the engine upgrade not go to unnoticed, the exhaust system was swapped out for a much louder one of in-house make.
A separate mention goes to ABT High Performance BFS21 forged wheels, which we have never seen on a production car before. Rounding off the list is an extensive cabin overhaul with illuminated kick plates, a carbon-fiber gear lever knob, special edition badges all around and branded floor mats.
