Audi rolls out the most powerful RS 4 so far

The Audi RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years celebrates the RS 4 lineup turning a quarter of a century old and is officially considered the flagship of the family despite coming in a limited series. Ordering will open in June with prices starting from €142,900.

The wagon still uses its 2.9-liter turbo V6, but it receives a bump to 470 PS (464 hp / 346 kW). The torque stays capped at 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). The anniversary edition needs 3.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from zero and maxes out at 300 km/h (186 mph) –0.2 seconds and 10 km/h (6 mph) better than stock. According to Audi, the transmission software received an update for faster shifts.

In its most basic form, the RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years already includes RS Pro suspension with a 10-mm (0.4-inch) lowering compared to stock. It can be optionally dropped by another 10 mm. The company also uses stiffer arms and installs the wheels at a 2-degree negative camber to keep things stable in sharp turns. 20-inch lightweight wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes are also included in the base spec.

To commemorate the original RS4 Sport that came out 25 years ago, the car gets a special yellow finish with black trim bits, as well as a matching interior.
