Audi to storm the DTM series with waste-recycled racing-grade fuel

Audi is getting ready to enter the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters racing series with two new RS 5 DTM vehicles powered by a new kind of fuel. Recycled components are said to make up 50% of the mixture and reduce the emissions by 30%.

German fuel brand marketer Aral recycles different kinds of waste to get the necessary fuel components. The resulting mixture fully complies with Aral Ultimate 102, the low-carbon fuel standard that DTM vehicles have been using for almost 15 years now.

The two RS 5 DTM racecars with 610 hp (455 kW) under the hood will join the final races of the championship later this year, driven by Emerson Fittipaldi and Benoît Tréluyer.
