Next-gen Audi RS5 Sportback premieres in New York

The German car brand Audi has presented the latest model update of its RS5 liftback at the New York motor show recently opened for the press. The car is considered the main rival of the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63 and should become available on its domestic market before the end of the year.

The refreshed Audi RS5 Sportback now comes equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 engine with a 444-horsepower (331 kW) output. Coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this engine can accelerate the car 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than four seconds. Its top going speed is manufacturer-rated at 249 km/h (154.5 mph).

In comparison to its coupe counterpart, the Audi RS5 Sportback wears a more aggressive-looking aerodynamic body kit and features carbon-fiber mirror holders, designer-made 19-inch wheels and a sporty exhaust system.

In its base trim, the new Audi RS5 Sportback still offers sport seats, an infotainment system with a touchscreen, climate control and a refined interior with lots of expensive leather and Alcantara used throughout.
