Production-ready Audi RS6 gets caught on camera

Up until now, Audi has been successfully keeping the appearance of the new RS6 Avant a secret. Today, car spotters have finally managed to locate a final production copy of the car out in the streets and make photos.

Though camouflage-cladded, it is obvious that the new RS6 has quite a few design features that differentiate it from the A6 and S6. Immediately obvious are new bumpers, massive fender flares, sported-up sides, black alloy wheels, oval exhaust tips, and completely new lighting that looks edgier and sharper than the previous one, lending the vehicle a rather menacing appearance.

The estate/wagon you can see here comes in a performance trim, as evidenced by large-diameter tailpipes, performance brakes, and low ride height.

As for the engines, the next Audi RS6 will ship with the same assortment as the next RS7 Sportback, including the brand-new 4.0-liter turbocharged unit capable of 650 hp (485 kW). To put things into perspective, the previous RS topped out at 597 hp (445 kW) in its costliest Performance trim. The Bentley Continental GT series will also adopt this new 650-hp engine in the near future.
