HGP turns the C8 Audi RS6 Avant into a family superwagon

The C8 generation of the Audi RS6 Avant has only just begun shipping, but the German team over at HGP Turbonachrüstung GmbH has already found a way to power it up.

You will probably be justified to think that the four-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 the family ride ships with is plenty enough for its class. In fact, with 600 hp (447 kW) and 800 Nm (596 lb-ft) of torque at the crank, it is already far better equipped than most of the competition. Still, for some tuners, the sky’s the limit.

The Stage 1 kit includes an ECU tune, a new air filter and a high-performance air intake system. The net result is impressive, indeed: 786 hp (586 kW) and 1,061 Nm (801 lb-ft) of torque.

The company is already working on Stages 2 and 3 of the kit, promising us at least 1,000 or 1,050 hp in the next release.

The acceleration performance of the Ingolstadt-born estate car deserves a special mention. Even in its stock form, the Audi RS6 (C8) Avant sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in mere 3.6 seconds, setting a record in its weight and price category. The HGP-tuned example improves upon this parameter, too, hitting 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) just 6.7 seconds after that.
