MTM stuffs a thousand and one horses under the hood of Audi RS6, RS7 & RS Q8

The North American branch of Motorentechnik Meyer GmbH (MTM) has released the fourth and final performance upgrade for the Audi RS6 Avant, R7 Sportback and RS Q8. All three models ended up with Bugatti Veyron levels of power – and price tags to match.

The entire upper Audi RS lineup in the USA ships with the same 4.0-liter V8 TT rated at 591 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. By swapping out the dual turbochargers, upgrading the firmware and installing a plethora of other mods MTM manages to bring the power to 1,001 hp (745 kW) and the torque to 1,250 Nm (921 lb-ft).

Sprint times remain to be measured, but the stock RS6 only needs 3.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standing still. The RS7 is one-tenth of a second and the bulky RS Q8 is two-tenths of a second behind it. All three hit their speed ceiling at 305 km/h (190 mph).

The MTM Stage 4 kit costs U.S. $43,599 for the RS6 and RS7, while RS Q8 owners will have to set back $43,999 for it. The same amount of money buys you a brand-new S3 Sedan, an A5 Sportback or an A4 Allroad. If you would rather save some money, consider Stages 1 through 3 (starting from $10,999, $15,799 and $29,999, respectively).
