Performance tuning is supposed to be good for your car, but is it always worth it? The CarWOW team decided to see just how slower a normal RS6 Avant would be than its counterpart outfitted with $6,860 worth of upgrades.
The superwagon is no slouch straight from the factory, packing a four-liter, twin-turbo V8 capable of 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Awesome GTI improves upon these figures by installing an ECU tune, changing the air filter, and swapping the exhaust system for a sportier Milltek-branded one. The result is estimated at 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD system stay stock.
The video follows the duo as they race from a standing start, a rolling start, and in a brake efficiency test. We wouldn’t want to spoil the outcomes for you, but there’s no omitting that the Awesome GTI car had to be tuned down somewhat due to transmission issues.
