The Christmas time is right around a corner, and Hennessey Performance would simply not be left out of the celebrations. A recent YouTube video from the tuner shows him racing his wife’s Audi RS 6 Avant to supercar speeds with a fir tree strapped to its roof.
John Hennessey tried the same stunt behind the wheel of his Porsche 911 Turbo S last week, but maxed out at 282 km/h (175 mph), which he found underwhelming for the occasion. He then borrowed the sporty station wagon of his wife and managed to hit 295 km/h (183 mph).
As you may very well guess given all these data, this ain’t no regular Avant, despite its misleadingly stock looks. The unassuming exterior conceals a 4.0-liter V8 TT boosted to 800 mechanical horsepower (812 PS / 596 kW). The RS 6 Avant helps realize this wild performance thanks to its nice drag ratio of just 0.35 Cx, but a Christmas tree on the roof must have ruined much of the aerodynamic advantage.
Whatever the case was, the Audi was able to accomplish what a less powerful Porsche could not, and the tree, miraculously enough, managed to survive the acceleration unharmed.
